Charities we support

The Parish supports three charities – one international, one national and one local.  Here are the current charities we are supporting:-

Our International charity is currently ASHA meaning ‘hope’ in Hindi, ASHA has been helping the slum dwellers of Delhi since 1988, when Dr Kiran Martin started treating cholera victims who were too poor or culturally constrained to seek help elsewhere.  Now over 700,000 residents in 95 slum colonies have access to essential medical care and treatment with Asha, as well as a wide range of other support and benefits to help improve peoples’ lives and bring them ‘hope’.

Our national charity is Safe Families who work with over 35 authorities around the UK.  Safe Families offer hope, belonging and support to children, families and care leavers; primarily, but not exclusively, with and through local churches.

FOCUS FROME with offices in Frome and Bath, Focus Frome is based in the Cottage on the forecourt of St John’s Church. This peaceful setting offers a safe, open space for those in need in the area. A team of professional counsellors are available for adults, couples, families, children and young people who might be feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, angry, confused, traumatised, or experiencing an eating disorder, loss and grief.

If you would like to make a donation to one of the above charities, please make a cheque payable to Hardington Vale PCC and write the name of your nominated charity  on the reverse and send to the Treasurer, c/o Parish Office, Vicarage Lane, Norton St Philip, BA2 7LY.  If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer use the following parish account:- Hardington Vale PCC Code: 60 23 06  Ac:  31003060 and use the charity name as a reference.

Thank you.
